Fred Carlton Hulsey
Fred Carlton Hulsey, age 78, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, at his residence.
Fred Hulsey was born in Suwanee, Ga, to the late Carlous Gordon Hulsey and Deller May Johnson Hulsey. He moved to Monticello 70 years ago. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and earned his associate degree from the Sheppard ACB in Texas.
He was a member of Smithboro Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 110 in Monticello. Before retirement, he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Baldwin County.
Fred loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Herman Hulsey, Harold Hulsey, Herbert Hulsey, Ed Hulsey, Annie Larimore, and Verdell McMichael.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Pope Hulsey of Monticello; children, Roy (Sissy) Hulsey, Franklin (Patti) Hulsey, and LeAnn Taylor of Monticello; grandchildren, Heather Hulsey, Krissi Bristow, Jana Scott, Travis Hulsey, Laree Taylor, and Douglas Taylor; and great-grandchildren, McKinley Hulsey, Katherine Kirby, Sophie Bristow, Mia Bristow, Cade Bristow, Kelsey Walton and Kenslee Ivey; and sister, Celo Franks of Lawrenceville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Smithboro Baptist Church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Rev. Joe Ezzard will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roy Hulsey, William Hulsey, Carl Hulsey, Douglas Taylor, Travis Hulsey, and Brandon Kirby.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016, at Jordan Funeral Home.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Smithboro Baptist Church 314 Smithboro Road, Monticello, Ga., 31064.
