Sentences Are Handed Down

Judge Alison Burleson had a light docket of civil and criminal cases to review last Tuesday in Jasper Superior Court.

Amy Hart was sentenced to 12 months of probation for a theft by taking charge. She was fined $500 and ordered to pay restitution.

Raquel Casas also received 12 months of probation for two counts including possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects. She was fined $500.

Probation revocations included:

Chelsea Davis, sentenced to 180 days in jail which was suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 60-90 days for a positive drug test on September 12 and failure to complete community service hours in addition to failure to provide verification of substance abuse treatment.

Melissa Harris, sentenced to 180 days in jail which was suspended upon entry into the GDC residential substance abuse treatment program for 9-12 months following a new offense in August 2016 for possession of methamphetamine as well as failure to complete community service hours and provide verification of substance abuse treatment.

Julius Martin, sentenced to 60 days in jail for positive drug test and failure to provide verification of substance abuse treatment.

Latonya Hallman, 58 days of the probated sentenced shall be revoked to jail unless court fees in arrears are paid, community service hours are completed, drug evaluation is completed and driving under the influence class is completed by court ordered date.

Rodney Snow, 57 days of the probated sentence shall be revoked to jail for violating previous probation conditions by testing positive for drugs and not completing court ordered drug evaluation.
