John Daniel ‘Dan’ Williams

John Daniel “Dan” Williams, age 63, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016,at his residence after a sudden illness.

Dan Williams was born in Macon to the late Howard Franklin Williams and Carol Harrelson Williams. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Williams.

A graduate of Jones County High School, he received his bachelor’s degree from Georgia College in Milledgeville. He lived in Gray until moving to Hillsboro 21 years ago.

Dan was a member of Haddock Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer; loved working in the yard and traveling; and spending time with his grandchildren.

Before retirement, he worked as a Business Analyst for 35 years for the Southern Company-Georgia Power in Jonesboro.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Diane Tillman Williams of Hillsboro; daughter, Mandie (Banks) Behling of Monticello; grandchildren, Sawyer Behling and Scout Behling; sister, Joan (Wayne) Smith of Gray; brother-in-law, Neal (Patsy) Tillman of Hillsboro; seven nieces and nephews; and five great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Hillsboro Baptist Church. Aubrey Ray will officiate.

The family will receive friends after the service Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 at the Fellowship Hall of Hillsboro Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Abbey Hospice for all their love and care during his sudden illness.
