Persons Arrested; Thefts Investigated
Jasper County deputies investigated three thefts in the last week across the county.
In the most recent, a lock box containing cash and important documents was taken from an address on Henderson Mill Road. Previously, an undisclosed burglary took place on Hoffman Drive. Lastly, at an address on Hwy. 212 west, there was a theft by taking where knives, clothes, electronics, a lockbox, perfume, and much more were taken.
Also in the last week, several people were booked into the Jasper County Detention Center. They include:
•Jonathan Drew Maroney, 36, Monticello—probation violation.
•Joseph Drew Davis, 44, Newborn—obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
•Roderick Deon Dumas, 30, Monticello—public drunkenness.
•Bart Wesley Ray, 33, Monticello—probation violation.
•Donnie Edwin Massey, 43, Covington—possession of marijuana less than an ounce, hit and run/leaving scene of an accident, possession of open container, failure to maintain lane, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and following too closely.
•Jessie Lee Hardeman, 37, Oxford—Jasper County Superior Court bench warrant.
•Theodore Bartley Lockwood, 52, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court bench warrant.
•Christopher Jim Yawn, 38, Shady Dale: hold for warrant in Laurens Co.
