Mary Louise Gude

Mary Louise Gude was born on June 24, 1956 to the parentage of Mamie Bell Williams and the late Sammie Lee Williams. She died November 17, 2016.

Born in Madison, Ga., she later moved to Monticello, where she married James Gude. To that union, one child was born. She later moved to Hillsboro.

Mary was faithfully employed by Monticello Manufacturing Inc. until it closed. Afterwards, she was employed by Pactiv, in Covington, where she received numerous awards. Mary joined New Enon Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Holy Nation where she worked faithfully until her death.

Her son, Kelvin Bernard Freeman; brothers, Sidney Lee Williams, Willie James Williams and Arlanster Williams preceded her in death.

Minister Gude leaves to mourn and cherish her memories, a loving and devoted daughter, Kia Gude Bostic (Justin) of Monticello; grandson, Xavier Gude; and granddaughter, Ke’Ariel Gude. her mother, Mamie Bell Williams of Newborn; brother, Samuel Williams of Shady Dale; sisters, Willie Bell Stewart of Newborn, Fannie Dennis of Monticello, and Margaret Lee Smith (Ronnie) of Shady Dale; a great niece, Mariah Bostic, and great nephew, Corben Bostic. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend and Pastor, Bishop Patricia Standifer.

Mary was affectionately known everywhere as the “Doughnut Lady.” She will truly be missed.

A celebration of her life was held Monday at Holy Nation Church, with Bishop Patricia Standifer officiating. Burial was in Midway Independent Church Cemetery in Shady Dale.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge.
