TOTAL LOSS

The family of Robert Smith lost everything in a house fire early Tuesday morning. The call came in about 4:30 a.m., and when firefighters arrived, the house at 11467 Hwy. 83 south was fully involved, said Fire Chief Jarrett Slocumb.

Everyone was able to get out, but a dog was lost in the blaze. The house was owned by Marshall Tinsley and Willie Marks. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical in nature, said Mr. Slocumb. Firefighters from Station 1, Jackson Lake; Station 2, Shady Dale; Station 3, Monticello, and Station 4, Hillsboro all responded as did a medic and a deputy.
