Albert Lee Pennamon

Albert Lee Pennamon was born April 20, 1948 in Jasper County to the late Willie Lee Pennamon Sr., and Daisy Mae Pennamon. He departed this life on earth on December 15, 2016.

A celebration of life for Mr. Pennamon will be held Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 514 Funderburg Drive, Monticello. Rev. Robert Henderson will deliver the eulogy. Repast at St. James AME Church Fellowship Center with burial at South View Cemetery.

He proclaimed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined St James A.M.E. Church.

He was educated in the public school system of Jasper County and graduated in the class of 1967, where he enjoyed playing high school football.

Albert was employed by Bibb Mills and Hercules for several years but he worked and retired from Georgia Pacific in Monticello, after 31 years of service.

Everyone who knew Albert knew him as a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, barber, and coach. Albert enjoyed cutting hair on Sunday mornings and during the week coaching baseball, football and softball. Albert was truly a jack of all trades and a master to all. He was a community dad and was loved by many.

On December 15, 2016, God called Albert home. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Willie Pennamon, Burney Pennamon, Augustus Pennamon and James Pennamon and one sister; Liz Goolsby and one granddaughter Mirakle Ammons.

He leaves to cherish his memories a wife, Cassandra White Pennamon; 11 loving children: Scott Pennamon (Shaun) Loganville, Jermaine Pennamon, Tameka Pennamon, Monica Mitchell, Liz Pennamon, Rafeal Pennamon, Shantavious Epps, Derek Campbell, Porsche Epps, Shunterrell Epps, and Trinity White, all of Monticello; three sisters: Doris Rivers, Nan Logan and Josephine (Eugene) Anderson, all of Atlanta; three brothers: Harvey Pennamon, and Carl (Evette) Pennamon from Monticello, and Hollis (Patricia) Pennamon, Decatur; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Horace and Annie Shivers, mother-in-law, Mamie L. Goolsby; three sisters-in-law: Latasha Shivers, Teresa Goolsby and Tomeca Goolsby and three brothers-in-law: Horace Shivers (Patrece), Keith Carter and Rodney Goolsby, one special niece, Toni (Tommy) Gilstrap, one special cousin, Angela Lynwood and four devoted friends: Carla Crutchfield, Gerald Benton, Collin and Carl Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
