Arrests Are Reported

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated several thefts in the last week.

On January 1, they were called to an address on Hwy. 83 north where money, diapers, a wallet, and clothes were taken from a vehicle.

Prior to that, on December 29, they were called to a report of theft by shoplifting at 1900 West Washington Street.

A telephone was reported stolen from an address on Concord Road in Shady Dale, and power tools were taken from an address on South Street in Monticello.

Deputies were called to Pheasant Court where there was a report of a watch and boots being taken.

Persons booked into the Jasper County Detention Center in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Timothy Lynwood, Jr., 28, Monticello—probation violation.

•Deborah Moger Tinsley, 29, Newborn—cruelty to children, first degree, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•James Scott Baldwin, 41, Monticello—child support.

•James Durrell Mullinax, 42, Madison—parole violation.

•Simon Fitch Argo, 24, Monticello—purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution or sale of marijuana (two counts).

•Jessica Rene Goodman, 22, Monticello—purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution or sale of marijuana (two counts).

•Rachel Lynn Foley, 36, Conyers—child support.

•Melvin Lamar Cosby, 51, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked, failure to stop at stop sign, open container and driving with no license.

•Charles Walker Brock, 63, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked, no insurance and removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal.

•Thadeius Oneil Norris, 40, Locust Grove—too fast for conditions, driving while license suspended or revoked and stop sign violation.

•Robert Darrell Perry, 50, Covington—probation violation.

Also during the last week, deputies responded to some 400 calls for service, including 70 stopping suspicious person or vehicle, 41 premises check, 18 each subject needs officer and serve civil papers, 12 accidents, and 10 pick up prisoner or subject and numerous other types of calls.
