Mary Jane Willis Johnson

Mary Jane Willis Johnson, age 86, formerly of Covington, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at The Retreat Nursing Home in Monticello.

Mary Jane Johnson was born in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Tom Willis and Emma Knott Willis.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Cochran; and grandchildren, Anthony Johnson and Elisa Calhoun.

Mary Jane was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She lived in Covington for a number of years; and retired from the Royal Typewriter Corporation. She loved to crochet, cook and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Sandra) Johnson of Yatesville, Norma Ellis (Todd Moses) of Stockbridge, and Mike (Rachel) Johnson of Covington; grandchildren, Deanna Bailey, Bobbie Hardee, Cindy Reeves, Scottie Johnson, Renee Tingler, Jacob Bledsoe, and Justin Bostic; great-grandchildren, Brittany Stroup, Danielle Bailey, Joshua Davenport, Joseph Calhoun, Jesse Hunter, Caitlin Collins, Clay Hardee, Vanessa Welch, Scottie Johnson, Tylor Johnson, Anna Johnson, Brooke Tingler, Drake Tingler, Hannah Hamilton and Landon Palecek; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Callie Fuller Baptist Church Cemetery. Gary Baldy is officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at Jordan Funeral Home.
