Former County Employee Is Sentenced
Former Jasper County employee Sherry Braley was sentenced to 150-180 days in a state probation detention center with the remainder of a 15 year sentence served on probation.
The sentencing came in Jasper Superior Court during the February 28 motion day calendar review. The defendant was found guilty of one count of theft by taking and fined $2,000. In addition to the court fine, she will be required to pay $22,878 in restitution to the Jasper County Board of Commissioners.
Joseph Patrick Moss, III was sentenced to 12 years of confinement in addition to being fined a hefty $200,000 court fee for a negotiated guilty plea to trafficking methamphetamine or amphetamine.
Mr. Moss was sentenced to 30 years but following the required service in confinement may serve the remainder on probation. He was also credited with time served since January 2016.
Thomas Ethan Davis was also sentenced to confinement for one year on four counts including two theft by taking charges and two possession of firearm by first offender probationer charges. He was fined $1,000.
Jeffrey Olice Lake was sentenced to 180 days in Jasper County jail which was suspended upon entry into a residential drug treatment program for the offense of possession of methamphetamine and a positive drug test while on probation. He was further sentenced to three years of probation for the possession of methamphetamine charge.
Teresa Marie Schwartz was sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects. Fined $1,000.
Jasmine Nicole Brantley was sentenced to one year of probation for deposit account fraud. She was fined $100 and is required to pay restitution of $201 to Monticello Family Foods.
