Two Have Probation Revoked
Judge E. Trenton Brown, III presided over a light docket of civil and criminal cases Tuesday morning in Jasper Superior Court.
Two probated defendants received sentences. Marquis Jackson had his probation revoked to the state penal system in addition to being sentenced six months in Jasper County jail for an obstruction of an officer charge from a February 2017 offense.
Hakeel Norwood was sentenced to 180 days in Jasper County jail which was suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 120 days and ordered to pay restitution to his victim. He was charged with burglary and fined $1,000.
Last week, Judge Brenda Trammell presided over a light court docket as well.
Kerry Jackson was sentenced to 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana and fined $400 for a probation offense charged in February 2017. For violating probation conditions, his previous sentence was revoked to 120 days in Jasper County jail with credit for time served since February. Upon release he will have 90 days to complete his community service and if a positive drug test results he would then serve 180 days in a State Probation Detention Center.
Kendarius Benjamin was sentenced to 12 months of probation for driving without a license. He was also ordered to obtain a General Education Diploma (GED) and a driver’s license.
