Several Thefts Are Reported
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to numerous reports of theft in the last week, with many items including jewelry and drugs missing from an address on Harvey Street in Monticello.
Drugs and money were taken from an address on Mallard Drive in Turtle Cove. Also on Crane Court, pills were taken from a parked auto.
There was another report of a telephone missing from the high school, and one person reported a missing firearm. Drugs were reportedly taken from an address on Liberty Church Road, and a temporary license plate was taken off a vehicle on Southern Empire Road.
A number of persons were arrested in the last week. Those booked into the Jasper County Detention Center, and their charges, include:

•Sharrod Deeric Moore, 35, Macon—probation violation.
•Charles Lee Victrum, Jr., 46, Shady Dale—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Liel Ayala Goen, 29, Charleston—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Assaf Yosef Benshimol, 23, Sunnyisles, Fla.—driving while unlicensed, failure to maintain lane and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Selina Souphouh Siharath, 21, Atlanta—identity theft fraud, conspiracy to commit a felony, forgery-4th degree and printing/executing/negotiating fictitious checks.
•Ben Forrest Hoppenbrouwer, 29, Atlanta—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•David Wayne Walker, 50, Monticello—aggravated assault.
•Shirley Wise Benton, 57, Monticello—public drunkenness.
•James Logan Edwards, 25, Ellenwood—littering, giving false name/address or birthdate to law enforcement officer, driving while license suspended or revoked and failure to maintain lane.
•Anthony Smith, 28, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, cruelty to children-third degree and battery.
•Brandon James Crowley, 18, Madison—possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, furnish/purchase/possession of alcohol by person under age 21, drugs not in original container and possession of alcohol by a minor.
•Madison Lane Bradford, 17, Rutledge— possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, drugs not in original container, open container, possession of alcohol by a minor.
•Anne Lowry Akins, 18, Madison—possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, drugs not in original container, speeding, open container and possession of alcohol by a minor.
•Shante Lanesha Norwood, 20, Monticello—fleeing/attempting to elude law enforcement, failure to yield, driving without a license, seat belt violation, reckless driving and open container.
•Demarcus Arkell Sands, 21, Monticello—probation violation and Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.
