Persons Are Arrested; Thefts Are Investigated

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated several thefts in Monticello last week.

On June 2, a push mower was reported stolen from an address on West Greene Street in Monticello. The day before, a wallet with cash was taken from an address on Eatonton Street, also in Monticello.

A Smith & Wesson automatic handgun was reported stolen from an address on Greer Road in Hillsboro.

All the household appliances were reported taken from an address on Fitzgerald Road in Shady Dale. And, a property owner on Landers Way also reported a theft.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Percy Eugene Johnson, 59, Monticello—pedestrian under the influence of alcohol.

•Roland Brently Beatty, 38, Monticello—battery.

•Dana Sterling George, 43, Newborn—possession of methamphetamine, use of communication facility in commission of a felony (three counts), possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, purchase, possession/manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana (four counts).

•Jesse Garrett Shirley, 25, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.

•Charlotte Diane Christian, 60, Shady Dale—sale of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (two counts).

•Michael Carlton Pendley, 38, Covington—forgery-1st degree and theft by taking.

•Rebecca Lynn Garrison, 43, Newborn—possession of methamphetamine, possession of Schedule IV controlled substance and purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution or sale of marijuana.

•Patricia Ann Purvis, 60, Madison—driving without a license on person, driving while license expired and improperly transferred tag.

•Marcus Sam Croy, 29, Covington—violation of computer pornography and child exploitation Prevention Act and obscene internet contact with a child.

•Patrick Charles White, 36, Monticello—possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of a felony and drug related objects.

•Telly Fedinandro Banks, 42, Lithonia—probation violation.

•Joseph Grant Minix, 34, Covington—open container of alcohol, failure to stop at stop sign and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Kendra Lou Garza, 30, Monticello—possession of Schedule I controlled substance and Jasper County Superior Court Bench warrant (two counts).

•Kerry Britt Treadwell, 49, Channcey—cruelty to children-3rd degree, battery and criminal trespass.

•Roy Lane Gibby, 51, Conyers—aggravated assault.

•John Fitzgerald Scott, 53, Woodstock—hold for warrant by the U.S. Marshals.

•Nicole Starr Anderson, 29, Shady Dale—possession of methamphetamine.

•Charles Lee Victrum, Jr., 46, Shady Dale—sale of methamphetamine, use of communication facility in commission of a felony and failure to register as a sex offender/failure to comply with requirement.

•Elizabeth Ann Smith, 23, Oxford probation violation.

Also in the last week, deputies responded to numerous calls for service, including 95 stop sign suspicious person or vehicle, 57 premises check, 28 subject needs officer and 25 serve civil papers, as well as numerous other types of calls.
