Two Thefts Are Reported
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) had a relatively light week in the past week, investigating only two reports of theft and making note of an IRS telephone scam.
A resident on Whitten Way reported the theft of a paint gun and accessories as well as a pair of tennis shoes. In an incident on Hwy. 212 west, a resident reported the theft of a chain saw. IRS phone scams continue to be a nuisance, with one resident reporting such a call this week.
Those arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Amanda Pauline Smith, 27, Eatonton—deposit account fraud.
•Colby Deeric Bilbrew, 40, Jackson—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Christie Thomas Hill, 31, Monticello—theft by shoplifting.
•Joshua Wayne Stephens, 37, Newborn—simple battery.
•Kelly Denise Piper, 42, Mansfield—probation violation.
•Victoria Marie Blair, 32, Rutledge — speeding and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Victoria Jean Brown, 41, Monticello—Jasper County Magistrate Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Vashon Leon Traylor, 28, Monticello—Jasper County Probate Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Shelby Grace Allingham, 31, Twin City—deposit account fraud.
•Brian Paul Bulson, 42, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, open container and windshield violation.
•Charles Gregory Johnson, 49, Mansfield—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane and open container.
•Edward Antonio Holmes, 37, Forsyth—driving while license suspended or revoked and failure to maintain lane.
•Bettie Joan Holder, 24, Covington—criminal trespass.
•Roland Brently Beatty, Monticello—theft by taking.
