Benjamin Roper Williamson, Sr.
Benjamin Roper Williamson, Sr., age 69, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.
“Benny” Williamson was born and raised in Monticello. His parents were the late Glen Franklin Williamson and Nola Etta Caroline Roper Williamson. He lived in Covington for a number of years before returning to Monticello nine years ago.
Benny was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Eatonton, Ga. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, taking trips to the mountains and bear hunting. Before retirement, he owned and operated Atlanta Pallet Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Twanna Elaine Williamson; and brother, Glen Rogers “Rod” Williamson.
He is survived by his wife, Robyn Brown Williamson of Barnesville; children, Benjamin Roper Williamson, Jr. of Barnesville, Judy Arlene (Monty Brent) Willard of Covington and Michael Keith Williamson of Monticello; grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Rodriguez, Jessica Elizabeth Rodriguez, Jeremiah Brent Willard, Timothy Ryan Willard, Dereck Benjamin Willard, Nolan Roper Willard, Nicholas Keith Williamson, Dustin Michael Williamson and Abigaile Arlene Williamson; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Debbie Hardy of Monticello, Charlie Williamson of Franklin, N. C., Judy Dills of Monticello, Mac Arthur Williamson of Godfrey, Jimmy Williamson of Covington and Elaine Barnett of Forsyth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Williams Payne Cemetery. Rev. John Mark Roberts will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremiah Willard, Timothy Willard, Dereck Willard, Nolan Willard, Dustin Williamson and Joshua Rodriguez.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2017, at Jordan Funeral Home.
