Thefts Are Reported Here
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to several reports of theft in the last week, as well as two reports of I.D. fraud or theft.
On Monday, a resident on Pitts Chapel Road reported guns and a weed eater taken from the home.
A burglary was reported on Johnny Fears Road, but no details were available. In addition, a trailer was taken from an address on Ernest Gibson Road. In another instance, a shotgun, Playstation, clothes and an amplifier were reported missing after a burglary on Middlebrooks Pond Road.
Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•William Winfield Garvey, III, 30, Decatur—theft by receiving stolen property.
•Kenneth Anthony Thurman, 54, Monticello—probation violation and public drunkenness.
•Wendy Lee Bates, 43, Covington—possession of methamphetamine.
•Joseph Trevor Phillips, 27, Monticello—littering and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Courtney Sentrell Stembridge, 29, Union Point—Jasper County Probate Court bench warrant.
•Patrick James Harvard, 26, Mansfield—probation violation.
•Laran Quina Mayo, 26, Buford—probation violation.
•Tara Nicole Hill, 40, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.
