Lady Canes Head to Region Tourney

The Lady Hurricanes softball team has played a stretch of region opponents headed into the start of the AA region tournament tomorrow, Sept. 29.

The ladies defeated the Putnam County Lady War Eagles Tuesday evening at home. It was Senior Night for the varsity squad making the 10-2 victory momentous. The game ended at the bottom of the sixth inning on the run rule.

Senior Lauren Mosley (#14) is shown on the mound as Taylor Bloodworth (#25) plays second base. On Monday, the ladies hosted Howard and won 8-0 when the game was called in the fifth inning on the run rule as well. Last Thursday, they defeated the Rabun squad 11-1.

The region tournament begins tomorrow and will continue through Thursday, Oct. 5.

The Lady Canes are currently 4-1 in the 8 AA region solidly behind Elbert and Banks counties, both 5-1. The first round of state begins Wednesday, Oct. 11.
