Never Too Late Open House Set Saturday
The public is invited to attend an Open House for the Never Too Late Foster Home for boys this Saturday, Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m., at 1178 College Street, Monticello.
The Board of Directors is grateful for the community effort, which has gone into preparing the building to provide a safe and inviting atmosphere for the boys that will call it their “home.”
Executive Director Rob Andrews said, “The progress made thus far in no way would have been possible without the many, many hours of volunteer time and community support given as we work earnestly to meet all the requirements to be granted full licensure.
“We invite everyone to attend the Never Too Late Open House,” said Mr. Andrews.

Beginning with the purchase of the building, the community has shown its support. Young people, not so young people, school groups, church groups, and caring individuals have provided gifts of financial support, time and talent. The building has been totally renovated and final modifications are currently in progress.
Mr. Andrews said, “While the names are too many to list, two individuals are especially noteworthy. Dr. John DeGarmo, foster care specialist, with his love for children and his witness to a multitude of young people in need of a loving home has been a driving force. John has freely volunteered his time and talent in creating awareness of the Never Too Late project.
“Project Manager Ronnie Payne volunteers considerable hours each week to oversee and coordinate the steps required to create a loving home that meets building code and group home requirements.”
The Never Too Late board is now focused on obtaining licensing and certification by the state of Georgia. In order to meet state guidelines, proper and efficient development of policies and procedures is extensive. Mr. Andrews concluded, “Never Too Late is looking forward to providing a loving and caring environment for boys who are in need. The friendly environment of Jasper County, along with our quality school system and strong faith based community create an ideal place to give foster boys the stability and foundation they need to grow into productive and responsible adults.”
