Winner Gets All 15 Right, and Tie-Breaker

It was a banner week for The Monticello News football contest, as possibly a record number of people got 12 or more right to qualify for the grand prize honor roll.
The winner, Randy Patterson said he was just lucky, not skilled, when he picked the winners of all 15 games listed and hit the tie-breaker on the nose. And, he works in Atlanta, so he asked Kasey Hall, 4-H Agent, to pick up his prize, as he was donating it to the 4-H program.
So, Mrs. Hall picked up his $25 prize from Megan McDougall at Dairy Queen, sponsor of the week.

Five other players also had perfect scores, correctly guessing the winner of all 15 games listed, but they missed on the tie-breaker. David Banks got all 15 right, and guessed 42 would be scored on the tie-breaker. Elbert County beat our Canes 41-0, making 41 the tie-breaker score. Others who got all 15 right included Paul White, Stephanie Pittman and Tink Dover.
Mr. Patterson is a novice player, only getting interested in the football contest this year, when Mrs. Hall encouraged him to take part. Mrs. Hall is a veteran player who takes it seriously, and has won the grand prize in the past.
This week, another player gets a chance to win a $25 prize and be featured on the front page of The Monticello News. Prize sponsor is M.D. HVAC. In addition, anyone getting 12 or more right will have his or her name added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll for a chance at four premium tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s Day.
Entries must be submitted to The Monticello News office—in person, by fax or e-mail—no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 3. Remember, only enter one time, and please write legibly.
