Bruce Cooper

Bruce Cooper, 40, affectionately known as Beanie by family, DJ Fubu by friends, and DJ Bruce Wonder by the world, was born on January 30, 1977 in Milledgeville, to Rebecca (Harold) Norwood.

He departed his earthly life on Monday, October 30, 2017 peacefully in the comfort of his home of Macon.

On May 21, 2008 Bruce married his best friend, Latekia Little. He lived out his life-long dream and passion for DJ-ing around the world. From humble beginnings with Corris “King Lee” Brown and his continued dedication to the perfection of the craft, he became the Official DJ for Soulja Boy Tell’em of Collipark Records.

So whether it’s touring the world supporting Grammy-nominated, platinum recording artist Soulja Boy Tell ’em or rocking headlining solo sets all over the globe, DJ Bruce Wonder has proven himself to be one of the most bankable names in the entertainment business.

As a 20 year veteran behind the decks, he has seemingly done it all: TV – Appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, ABC’s “The View”, The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno, BET, MTV, and George Lopez; LIVE – Performed in over 20 countries to screaming fans in crowds ranging from 1000 to 20,000; RADIO – Kiss 105.1 (Macon, GA), Mashup Nation Radio (Syndicated), & The Blackout Show (Sao Paulo, Brazil).

Recently nominated Best DJ of 2015 by the 11th Hour Awards, DJ Bruce Wonder has built a reputation for being one of the premiere party rockers on the East Coast year after year. He is sought-after for his exquisite tailor-made playlists, and has become the go-to guy for a growing number of the country’s most popular hotspots and private soirees for leading global brands such as Coca- Cola, Macy’s, and Geico.

His unique DJ style can best be described with two words: No Limits. As a life-long fan of all genres of music, his live sets reflect the sensibilities of a performer whose sonic well runs deep. It is this element of his repertoire that keeps clients & fans coming back year after year. Although his first loves are classic hip hop and soul, DJ Bruce Wonder prides himself on continuous displays versatility via his ability to fuse various genres of music into seamless party rock sets, spinning energetic combos of Top 40, Rap, R&B, EDM, Future Disco, R&B, Soulful House, Classics, and of course, Big Room Club Killers.

His popular mixtape series is a growing hit in the viral space with thousands of global downloads monthly, and his radio mix shows are entertaining offers for national syndication as well. His own words explain it best: “My success and longevity come from my desire to always lead with versatility.”

His brand is built and marketed around this philosophy. It revolves around being a genuine love of music, having an incredible library of music in your arsenal, and knowing how to take a crowd on a journey. Be they a high-end, cocktail group or a nightclub full of “ready to turn up” 20-somethings, He took pride on being up to any challenge behind the decks.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of nine years Latekia Little-Cooper, parents Rebecca and Harold Norwood, sister Jasmine Norwood, brother Harold Jovan Norwood, nieces Zakeria and Zakia Alexander, in laws, Randolph and Cheryl Little, grandparents, Earl and Dorothy Johnson, aunts, Berliveria and Jeanette Mathis, uncles Jonas (Linda), Walter, and Bruce Mathis, and a host of cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

Bernard’s Funeral was in charge of arrangements.
