Middle School Cougars Earn Win

Prior to the start of the season, Piedmont Academy Middle School boys basket-ball coach Ron Holder said he believes the team had the potential for a standout season.

One game into the 2017-2018 season and that potential is already evident as the Middle School Cougars defeated Nathanael Greene 40-26 on the road last week. Dawson Coe (11 points) and Ryan Holder (10 points) paced Piedmont in the win.

Piedmont jumped out to a 16-7 lead after the first quarter and held a 24-8 advantage at halftime. The Middle School Cougars had the game in hand 38-16 after the third quarter.

David Bishop and Landon Conner both added five points for Piedmont while Brody Anderson scored three points. Cole Wade, Jayce Wood and Colt Hadaway all added two points.

Piedmont’s Middle School teams will both be in action on Tuesday, Nov. 21 against Covenant Academy in Macon beginning at 3:45 p.m.
