Only Two Make Honor Roll in Final Football Contest
The Bower family is another family that finds the football contest to be a family affair.
Although the kids are on their own, they still talk to their parents every week to get their football contest picks into the newspaper on time. And it paid off this week, as Brandon McElheney, this son-in-law of Gary and Susan Bower, won this week’s football contest.
Mr. McElheney could not make it from Macon to accept his prize, but Mrs. Bower picked it up for him. It was given by Carol Ann McMchael of Abbey Hospice, sponsor of the week.
The week’s contest took two weeks, though, as the high school games were postponed because of snow in Atlanta. But, they have all been played, and alas, it was a very difficult two weeks for contest players, as the only ones who got as many as 12 right to make the honor roll were Mr. McElheney, who got 13, and his brother-in-law, Ady Dahod who had 12 right.
So, that brings us to the BIG prize. The drawing for the Peach Bowl tickets will be held at The News office tomorrow, Dec. 22, at 11:30 a.m.
So, all players are urged to check the honor roll today, and make sure that the number of chances by their name is accurate. If not, please call us right away at 706-468-6511.
We will do the drawing tomorrow, and notify the winner immediately.
