Several Are Arrested for Drugs, Break-in
Three persons were arrested last Thursday after a report of suspicious persons loading items onto a truck and trailer.
The incident occurred at a Hicks Road address, and three persons were subsequently arrested and are facing a multitude of charges.
Phillip Wynens Hadaway, 63, Rodney Andrew Snow, 51, and John Garland Thomason, 58, all of Hillsboro were arrested. Their charges include:
Mr. Hadaway—possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, crossing guard lines with weapons/drugs or intoxicants, burglary-2nd degree and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Mr. Snow— possession of methamphetamine (2 counts), crossing guard lines with weapon/drugs or intoxicants, burglary-2nd degree and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Mr. Thomason— possession of methamphetamine and burglary-2nd degree.
Other persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Thomas Henry McQurter, 45, Monticello—failure to register as sex offender/failure to comply with requirements.
•James Larry Mason, 31, Covington—possession of methamphetamine and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Jimmy Dean Reed, 31, Lithonia—probation violation.
•Dennis Gordon O’kelley, 50, Gainsville—reckless driving, failure to yield entering/crossing roadway, hit and run; duty to stop at or return to scene of accident and failure to report an accident.
•Keyshawn Ramon Jackson, 21, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Michael Thomas Hinton, 25, Shady Dale—probation violation
•Mary Elizabeth Lewis, 34, Ellijay—theft by deception.
•William Lamar Cagle, 38, Covington—probation violation.
•John David Keasler, 70, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Obie Kester Lucky, 37, Monticello—terroristic threats and acts and cruelty to children third degree.
Several other incidents were also investigated, including a report of financial transaction card fraud, and a report of forgery. In addition, someone reported that a package was taken off their porch. One person reported the theft of a phone, and another reported the theft of drugs.
Deputies also investigated a theft of services compliant, and another burglary. Persons are reminded it is best to always keep their home and vehicles locked, and even more so during this holiday period.
