Nancy Howell Wages

Nancy Howell Wages, age 82, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. Wages was born in Dalton, Ga., to the late Wallace Tilton Howell and Florence Caldwell Howell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Wages; brothers, Alton Tilton “Jerry” Howell and James Robert “Dickie” Howell; and sisters, Betty Jo Allen and Virginia Howell Crow.

Mrs. Wages retired from FEMA where she was an administrative assistant for over nine years. She previously worked for over 40 years for HM Allen Company. Nancy lived in Jasper County until 1977, then lived in Lithonia until returning to Jasper County in 2007. After moving in with her daughter, Debbie, she enjoyed playing games and Facebook on the computer. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie W. (Jeff) Fuss of Monticello; grandchildren, Nicholas (Shelly) Roper of Covington, Nathan (Shannon) Roper of Monticello and Mindy (Justin) Anderson of Newborn; great- grandchildren, Rylan Roper, Sydney Roper, Hailey Roper, Gracie Roper, Maggie Anderson and Barrette Anderson; and sister, Laura Rogers of Dalton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale. Interment will be held in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Charles Roper will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nicholas Roper, Nathan Roper, Justin Anderson, Jerry Willingham, Maylon Wages and B. J. Wages.
