Susie Jean Lackey Turner

Susie Jean Lackey Turner, age 56, of Madison, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Susie Turner was born in Dahlonega, to the late Dorothy Annie Belle Gaddis Lackey. Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory William Holland; and sisters and brother, Joyce Ann Lackey, Idell Lackey, Tiny Debbie Lackey and Billy Lackey.

Susie loved to quilt and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James H. “Bud” Turner of Madison; daughter, Sheila (Dan) Edge of Monticello; grandchildren, Timber Edge, Mason Edge and Patrick Edge of Monticello; step-children, James Kirk (Meagan) Turner of Watkinsville, Priscilla (Myron) Lowe of Winder and Tonya (Paul) Paschal of Madison; eight step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James Lackey of Eatonton, Geraldine Tatum of Monticello, Betty Lackey of Covington and Frank Lackey of Monticello; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Pastor Wayne Ghann will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, prior to the service at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Abbey Hospice 215 Azalea Court, Social Circle, Ga. 30025.
