George Richards

A memorial service for George Richards, who died January 18, 2018, was held January 27, 2018 at the chapel of Smith and Sons Funeral Home on Funderburg Drive. Rev. Thomas Head officiated.

Mr. Richards was born September 26, 1949 to the late John Wesley Richards, Sr. and Annie Kate Lavaughn, in Jasper County. Mr. Richards was educated in the Jasper County public school system.

Mr. Richards worked doing handy man jobs for family and friends. He always had a pleasant personality with a big smile. He enjoyed walking and eating hot dogs.

Mr. Richards was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie, Willie James and John West Richards.

The precious and cherished memories of ‘George” will be remembered by all the leaves behind, including his sisters, Annette Talmadge of Jonesboro and Bernice Johnson (Julius) of Covington; uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
