Autos Are Entered; Guns Taken

Deputies responded to three reports of entering an auto this week. The first report was from the Turtle Cove Clubhouse where someone broke into a pick-up truck. Another report was from Hwy. 11 south where a shotgun and gift cards were stolen from a vehicle. The third incident occurred on Bethel Church Road where guns were taken from a vehicle.

Deputies also responded to a residence in Turtle Cove where a burglary was reported. There were also several reports of financial identity fraud, something that is becoming more common, and two other burglaries, one where a license plate was taken, and another where a bottle of bourbon was stolen.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Jameal Rashad Jefferies, 26, Milledgeville—criminal damage to property in the first degree (three counts), aggravated assault (three counts), possession of firearm or knife during the commission of a crime and reckless conduct.

Mr. Jefferies was sought in a shooting that occurred in Sanders Heights on January 20.

•Donice Melvin Nicholson, 56, Newborn—cruelty to children and simple battery (two counts).

•Donald Torry Beacham, 39, Madison—aggravated stalking.

•James Lloyd Stephens, 39, Madison—theft by taking and false report of a crime.

•Wonza Cohatton Hargrove, 28, Newborn—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and turning violation.

•Melvin Lamar Cosby, 53, Monticello—probation violation.

•Brandon Cole Cox, 24, Monticello—hold for warrant in Putnam Co.

•Phillip Wayne Gude, 56, Shady Dale—driving while license suspended or revoked and window tint violation.

•Dantreze Onveckio Nelson, 27, Monticello—probation violation.

•Christopher Demetruis Stodghill, 41, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear.

•Thomas Sean Murphy, 43, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce and tail light violation.

•David Allen Nash, Jr., 29, Monticello—theft by taking.

•Christopher Paul McCullough, 22, Stockbridge—possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and disorderly conduct.

•Michael Wallace Lindsey, 38, Shady Dale—terroristic threats, simple battery and cruelty to children in the second degree (three counts).
