Jimmy Lee ‘Buddy’ Thomas

A celebration of life for Jimmy Lee “Buddy” Thomas, who died February 2, was held February 7, 2018 at the chapel of Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Monticello. Dr. Jimmy Horton officiated; burial was in Kings Chapel Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mr. Thomas was born April 23, 1940 to John Thomas and Mrs. Becky Lou Thomas in Jomes County, Gray, Ga.

He was a logger, and loved using a chain saw. Buddy, as he was affectionately known, loved life and always had a smile for everyione. He had a quiet demeanor and a big loving heart.

Buddy was preceded in death by sisters, Mamie Bland, Gladys Thomas, Annie Johnson, Kate Lane, Geneva Digby, and Emma Conwell, and a borther, Frank Thomas.

His memory will be cherished by two sons, John Jackson of San Antonio, Texas, and Mardy Thomas of New York; a daughter, Angelic Thomas of New York; a sister, Minnie Thomas of Monticello, brothers, Evan Chatman of Monticelllo and Robert L. Thomas of Eastman, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
