Qualifying Set March 5-9

Qualifying for the May 22 primaries will begin Monday, March 5, at 9 am. and continue until Friday, March 9 at noon.

Those up for election include all statewide and typical mid-term elections and locally both the Jasper County Commission and Jasper County School Board could see new faces. School Board members in Districts 1, 3, and 5, are up for election, as are County Commissioners in Districts 2 and 4. Therefore, all Jasper County voters have a local reason to vote.

The deadline to register to vote in the May 22 election is Monday, April 23.

School board posts are non-partisan, so those individuals will qualify in the Probate Court. Commission candidates will qualify with the Republican party in the Probate Office, or with the Democratic party at a location to be announced.

Early voting begins Monday, April 30.
