Persons Are Arrested

Entering an auto continues to be a crime of choice in Jasper County, this week with someone on Concord Road reporting the theft of a handgun and holster from a vehicle there.

In addition, a resident on Liberty Church Road reported the theft of an antique cedar wardrobe.

Persons arrested in the last week include Kelvin Marrell Head, 30, of Jenkinsburg who led deputies on a high speed chase Saturday night.

Mr. Head is charged with purchase/possession/manufacture/distribution/or sale of marijuana, reckless driving, speeding, obstruction of a law enforcement officer (two counts), speeding, fleeing/attempting to elude a law enforcement officer (felony), driving in violation of license class restrictions, driving on the wrong side of the road, passing on a hill or curve, passing within 200 feet of oncoming traffic.

Other persons arrested, and their charges, include:

•Ronnie Bernard Barner, 47, Monticello—possession of cocaine.

•Christopher Austin Faust, 22, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.

•Christopher David Wilson, 32, Yankee Town, Fla.: theft by taking, no proof of insurance and acquiring license plate for purpose of concealing identity of vehicle.

•Laura Jean Ramey, 47, Monticello—fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and no insurance.

•Timothy Lynwood, Jr., 29, Monticello—probation violation, failure to maintain lane and driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Austin Reed Smith, 21, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear bench warrant.

•Jeremy Tyler Carter, 17, Monticello—False statements and writings.

•Austin Michael Hammonds, 17, Citronelle, Ala.—false statements and writings.

•Carrie Melissa Graham, 48, Monticello—false statements and writings.
