Several Are Sentenced in Superior Court
Judge Amanda Petty presided over the arraignment and motion day calendars in Jasper Superior Court last week which resulted in some hefty confinement time for two offenders.
Andy Davis was sentenced to 10 years in confinement for a negotiated plea for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm by convicted felon. Following confinement, he is to serve 15 years of probation and was fined $5,000.
Terry Johnson received five years in confinement of a 15 year sentence for a negotiated plea to computer pornography and criminal attempt to commit a felony. He was fined $1,500.
Thomas Conner was sentenced to 12 months of probation with the first day to be served in jail for driving under the influence and was fined $600.
Micheal Holder was sentenced to 12 months of probation for interfering with public utility property and was fined $400.
Mattie Parks was sentenced to 12 months of probation for simple battery and fined $500.

Timothy Lynnwood Jr., 180 days revoked to Jasper County jail for new offenses of driving while license suspended and failure to maintain lanes in March 2018. He also refused to submit urine analysis for testing on two separate dates. Jail time was suspended upon entry into a substance abuse treatment program which shall then be suspended upon payment of the balance of his restitution and court fees within seven days and entry into an outpatient treatment program. His probation shall not terminate before eight years of completion.
Brent Beatty, 180 days revoked to Jasper County jail for new offenses of driving while license suspended, testing positive for drugs, failure to complete substance abuse treatment and family violence programs. He also failed to complete community service and pay court fees. Jail time was suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center.
Jeremy Kidd, 20 days revoked to Jasper County jail for failure to report to probation and pay court fines from a December 2017 case.
On February 27, Judge Trenton Brown, III, presided over the arraignment and motion day calendars which yielded the following sentences:
Matthew McMurry was sentenced to serve three years of a 10 year sentence in confinement for six charges including sale of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related object, and obstruction of an officer. Fined $1,500.
Jamie Blackmon, sentenced two years of confinement for four charges in two separate crimninal cases with the confinement suspended upon entry into an completion of the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit ATCC program. Charges included theft by taking, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects. Fined $2,000.
Michael Loudermilk, 180 days of a five year sentence must be served in Jasper County jail for cruelty to children in the first degree. Fined $1,500.
David Tinsley, Jr., 180 days in Jasper County jail for giving false information to a law enforcement officer.
Jospeh Stephenson, first 72 hours of 12 months of probation to be served in Jasper County jail for driving under the influence. Fined $500.
Melvin Cosby, first 48 hours of 24 months of probation to be served in Jasper County jail for driving while license suspended, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and defective equipment. Fined $1,500.
David Knighten, first 24 hours of 24 months of probation to be served in Jasper County jail for driving under the influence and driving while license suspended. Fined $1,200.
Amber Strickland, five years of probation for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Fined $1,500.
Michael Dorough, three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. Fined $1,500.
Frank Howard, three years of probation for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, less than an ounce, tampering with evidence, and driving on improper registration. Fined $1,500.
Martha Pompey, to serve 180 days in Jasper County jail of a 24 month probation sentence for two counts of disorderly conduct and obstruction of an officer. The sentence is a result of a jury trial conducted during the February term.
