The Monticello Hurricanes will travel to SunTrust Stadium in Atlanta on Friday, April 6 to take on Lamar County in a spring baseball game where the big guys play. The game is slated to begin at 4 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, April 7, it is opening day for youth baseball, softball, t-ball and wee-ball with festivities beginning with a parade at 8:30 a.m.

Following the parade, at 9 a.m., an opening program will be held. That will conclude by 9:30 a.m., and teams will gather, and begin warm-ups for games that begin at 10 a.m. All 340+ children signed up to play will play that day said Recreation Director Jonathan Green.

Chickenque plates will be available while supplies last, and tickets are being sold now for those for $7 each.
