Tuesday Is Election Day
Voters in Jasper County will join those across the state next Tuesday as they go to the polls to select Georgia’s next governor, as well as numerous other state officials.
Locally, the District 5 School Board race is contested, with Incumbent Lewis Rice being challenged by Misty Ledford. In addition, voters are being asked to approve a continuation of the school’s one cent Education Local Option Sales Tax for improvements to the local schools and the construction of an athletic complex at the high school.
That question is below, from the ballot, and can also be seen in the legal section on page nine of today’s paper.
The remainder of the contested races can be seen on page 7 of today’s paper.
