Man Gets Two Life Sentences

Michael Shane Anglin was sentenced to two concurrent life sentences with 30 years to serve for rape, aggravated child molestation, incest, and two counts of child molestation.

Mr. Anglin was sentenced during last week’s review of the criminal trial calendar in Jasper Superior Court. He was also fined $5,000 and given credit for time served since March 2017.

Paul Steven May, sentenced to 10 years of probation for manufacture of marijuana and possession of marijuana. Fined $1,500.

Nicole Starr Anderson, sentenced to five years of probation for three counts of possession of methamphetamine. Fined $1,000 by court and must pay restitution of $984.

Shante Norwood, sentenced to three months of probation with the first 10 days to be served in jail for fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, reckless driving, driving without a license, failure to yield upon entering roadway, child safety restraint violation, and open container. Fined $1,000.

Thomas Anderson, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine. Fined $1,000 by court and must pay restitution of $984.

Austin Smith, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and driving under the influence. Fined $1,000.

David Ward, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine, possesssion of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, obstruction of an officer, driving with expired license and speeding. Fined $1,500.

Desiree Williams, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of cocaine. Fined $1,000.

James Cates, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine and open container. Fined $1,600.

Tavoris Whidby, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of cocaine, pedestrian under the influence of alcohol, and obstruction of an officer. Fined $1,500.

Daniel Holbrook, sentenced to three years of probation for possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana. Fined $1,000.

Marty Bilbrey, Jr., sentenced to two years of probation for disorderly conduct, simple battery, and cruelty to children in the third degree. Fined $800.

Brian Bell, sentenced to two years of probation for obstruction of an officer, disorderly conduct, underage possession of alcohol, and pedestrian under the infuence of alcohol. Fined $500.

Kiere Farrar, sentenced to two years of probation for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Fined $1,000.

Jonathan Sims, sentenced to a year of probation for battery and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree. Fined $300.

Christopher Faust, sentenced to a year of probation for possession of marijuana. Fined $500.

Ben Hoppenbrouwer, sentenced to a year of probation with the first 15 days in jail for driving under the influence. Fined $2,500.

Jeremy Powers, sentenced to a year of probation for reckless conduct. Fined $500.

Lauren Macke, sentenced to a year of probation for reckless driving and open container. Fined $800.

Nicholas Ramey, sentenced to a year of probation for disorderly conduct. Fined $400.

Janna Peters, sentenced to a year of probation for pointing a pistol at another. Fined $500.

Jon Abbott, sentenced to a year of probation for reckless driving. Fined $500.

Melinda Hill, sentenced to a year of probation for two counts of theft by receiving stolen property. Must pay restitution of $1,000.

David Nash, revoked to 305 days in jail for committing five new offenses and failure to meet standard probation conditions.

Michael Lyons, revoked to 35 days in jail which was suspended upon completion of alcohol and drug evaluation and payment of $250 within 45 days of release. He violated standard probation conditions.

Timothy Lynwood, Jr., revoked 28 days to jail for failure to report to the probation office.

On May 15 in Superior Court, Christy Mallory was sentenced to a year probation for public drunkenness.

Elizabeth Giles was sentenced to a year of probation for obstruction of an officer and fined $400.

Russell White was sentenced to a year of probation for disrupting public school and fined $500.

Brandon Cox, sentenced to 10 years of probation for posession of a schedule IV controlled substance. Fined $1,500.

Gary Locklear, sentenced to 12 years with the first 90 days in jail which was suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for three counts of obstruction of an officer and one count of disoderly conduct.
