Mingle With A Purpose Is Today

You will not want to miss this Downtown event! Today, July 19th, enjoy an afternoon and early evening (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) on the Square in Monticello for Mingle With A Purpose.

What’s the purpose? The purpose is to collect classroom items for the teachers of Jasper County which will benefit the children of Jasper County. Items such as facial tissues, plastic zip bags, hand sanitizer, clean-up wipes, crayons, colored pencils, markers, and glue are used throughout the school year. The items collected will be distributed to the Jasper County Charter System, Piedmont Academy and Shiloh Christian School teachers. Don’t have time to shop for items….? All monetary donations will be used to purchase items to be disbursed to the teachers by ML&J and Jasper County Leadership Class of 2017.

DUNKING BOOTH – volunteers to be dunked are: Commissioner Don Jernigan, Ag South Representative Mitchell Dickey, El Giro owner Robert Halliday, Bull Dog Gym Jason Edwards, Bull Dog Gym Russ Watts, Jasper County Tax Appraiser Lynn Bentley, TSM Contractors – Joseph Hinton, Venture Medical Dr. Barton, Jasper County Middle School Brady McMichael, Jasper County Principal Buddy Cain, Southern Edge Realty – Adam McGinnis (should we list times?)

CAKE WALK – Managing the cake walk will be City Council member Jenny Murphy

FREE FOOD – Hot dogs, chips, and soft drinks at corner lot on Warren Street and Greene Street

CORN HOLE – Who will be the cornhole champion

BAKE SALE – Enjoy bake sale goodies for dessert

EMCEE – Rob Andrews, Director of Never Too Late Home For Boys

MUSIC – By hometown favorite Les Steele

DONATION BOXES – Located at the Visitors’ Center and at the information tent

SPECIALS DOWNTOWN: Downtown businesses will have specials throughout the afternoon.
