Several Are Sentenced in Superior Court

During the July 31 session of Jasper Superior Court, Judge William Prior, Jr. sentenced Jonathan Andre Sims to two years of confinement with the balance of his 10 year sentence served on probation for eight criminal charges.

The charges included fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, obstruction of an officer, driving without a license, failure to stop at stop sign, failure to maintain lane, and failure to wear seat safety belt. His sentencing included two separate cases for probation violations from November 2016 and May 2018. He was fined $1,000.

David Tinsley, Jr. was sentenced to 180 days in Jasper County jail which was suspended upon entry into a Regional Substance Abuse Treatment program for burglary in the second degree. He was fined $1,000.

Probation violations and sentences include:

Hunter White, probation revoked to 180 days in Jasper County jail suspended upon entry into an inpatient treatment facility for a minimum of nine months or completion of the program. He violated probation by failure to report to the probationer and testing positive for drugs last month.

Caleb Vinson, probation revoked to 120 days in Jasper County jail for possession of marijuana and failure to pay court fines.

Derrick Dumas, probation revoked to 80 days in Jasper County jail suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 100 days for failure to report to probationer, changing residence without permission, arrest in Nevada, and failure to perform community service and pay court fines.

Nicole Anderson, probation revoked to 60 days in Jasper County jail for changing residence without permission, testing postive for drugs, failure to complete substance abuse evaluation, and failure to pay court fines.

Randy Bennett, probation revoked to 60 days in Jasper County jail for failure to pay court fines, failure to report to probation office, failure to complete community service and failure to complete drug evaluation. Upon release must pay court fines and complete 16 hours of community service within 45 days or return to court.

Thomas Anderson, probation revoked to 60 days to Jasper County jail for changing residence without permission, testing postive for drugs, and failure to pay court fines.

Mondrez Jacobs, probation revoked to seven days in Jasper County jail for failure to pay court fines, failure to report to probation office, and failure to complete community service.

Additionally, bond orders were set for Joshua Freeman, Carey Ross, and Jonathan Hardin, III.
