Lady Canes Defeat Bulldogs

The Monticello Lady Hurricanes varsity squad went 2-2 last week in sotfball competition.

Last Thursday, hosting Mary Persons of Forsyth, the ladies earned a solid 8-0 victory.

On Saturday the squad traveled to Augusta to compete in the Chik-Fil-A Classic. They fell 3-4 to the Franklin County Lions of Carnesville.

The Lady Canes rebounded from the weekend loss with a 7-3 win over the Georgia Military College Bulldogs.

A quick road trip to Covington Tuesday resulted in a 2-0 at Eastside.

The team was to host Jackson Wednesday before travleing to Watkinsville to face Oconee County today for a 5:30 p.m. matchup.

The squad will open Region 8 AA competition next week with a matchup of Union County. That contest will be the first of a five game region stretch including Oglethorpe, Elbert, Banks, and Social Circle.

The varsity and junior varsity squads will again travel to Mary Persons Monday, August 20 for competition that begins at 4:30 p.m. before both squads host Ola Wednesday, Augsut 22 beginning at 4 p.m.
