Loy Harold Cargile

Loy Harold Cargile, lovingly known as “Lollipop”, age 92, of Monticello, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at his residence.

Loy Cargile was born in Monticello, on July 22, 1926, to the late Gordon Cargile and Jane Estelle “Janie” Digby Cargile. Before retirement, he worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and the Bobbin Mill in Monticello.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Roper, Rachel Byrd, Ruby Jean Cargile; and brothers, Alvin William “Bill” Cargile and Doyle Cargile and Larry Cargile.

He is survived by his brothers and sister, Colin Cargile of Ocean View, Delaware, Ray (Ann) Cargile of Newborn and Marie C. Elrod of Monticello; sister-in-law, Nell Cargile of Monticello; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside will be held at a later date.
