John Thomas Rogers

Funeral services for John Thomas Rogers were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018 in Milledgeville. Interment followed in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

He died August 18, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Rogers, 79, was a native of Monticello and had made his home in Baldwin County for most of his life. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and was retired from Georgia Power Plant Branch.

Mr. Rogers was predeceased by his parents; William Felton Rogers and Ima Ruth Jordan Rogers and a son, Barry Thomas Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was active for over 15 years with a ministry going to Dogwood Retirement Home and also had a jail ministry program for over 15 years. He was a member of Heartland Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Davis Rogers; daughters, Angela Dawn Rogers and Kim Marie (Steve) Brown of Milledgeville; son, John Scott (Leisa) Rogers of Tennessee; brothers, Franklin Rogers of San Diego, Calif. and Harold Rogers of Melbourne, Fla.; grandchildren, Valerie (Brandon) Shell, Kaila Brown, Tyler Rogers, Hannah Watson, Casey Rogers, Caleb Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Elijah Rogers and Josiah Rogers; three great-grandchildren and a close family friend, Randy Baez, also survive.
