Mrs. Inez Jackson Cargile
A celebration of life for Mrs. Inez Jackson Cargile, who died September 28, 2018, was held Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. James A.M.E. Church in Monticello. Bishop Joe Ridley officiated; Rev. Reginald Jacobs is pastor. Burial was in Community Cemetery in Agateville.
Mrs. Cargile, 95, was born April 25, 1923, to the late Seymore and Louise Jackson.
Mrs. Cargile attended Crossroad C.M.E. Church in Hillsboro before its closure. She was a very devoted and active member serving in many different roles with her younger sister, Ruby, during her later years in attendance. “Ms. Inez” worked many years in housekeeping before retiring.
Despite working many jobs, she had many hobbies. She always found time to work in her flower garden and loved cooking, and quilting among other things. She lovingly raised her children, cared for her grandchildren, and was “mom” to so many others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Cargile; trow brothers, Bennie Jackson and Herbert Jackson, and seven sisters, Lillian Lloyd, Macilda Barber, Willie Mae Ridley, Corine Appling, Kate Appling, Nancy McDaniel and Lessie Blaylock.
She is survived by 10 children, Jim William Cargile (Thelma) of Atlanta, Sallie L. Sands of Monticello, Joe B. Cargile (Dorothy) of stone Mountain, Irene Norris of Monticello, Linda Jeffries of Detroit, MI, Fred Cargile (Mary) of Macon, Arlene Cargile, David L. Cargile, and Randy Cargile, al of Monticello and Murray Cargile of Atlanta; one sister, Ruby Driskell of Hillsboro. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several other loving relatives and close friends.
