Esther Barker Waits

Esther Barker Waits, age 95, of Macon, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at her residence.

Esther Waits was born and raised in Adgateville, to the late Richard Howard Barker and Lessie Ruth Waits Barker. She moved to Macon over 60 years ago. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Pittard Waits; son, Larry G. Waits, Sr.; and sisters and brother, Vivian Wellons, Mary Teston, Martha Funderburke, Bernice Gilman, and Charlie Barker.

Esther retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Adgateville Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kay H. Waits of Macon; grandsons, Larry (Jennifer) Waits, Jr. of Byron, Keith (Dawn) Waits of Lizella, and Shannon (Dalisa) Waits of Macon; nine great- grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren; brother, Joe (Judy) Barker of Lilburn; and several nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Hebron Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Phil Bryant will officiate.
