ENTIRE BAND IS SUPERIOR

The Marching Hurricanes competed in the Sound of the County Marching Invitational held at Harris County High School last Saturday. The band competed in class AA and received straight superiors, meaning that every judge there gave them a superior score.

In addition to their scores, the Marching Hurricanes received second place band in their class, only missing out on first place by less than half a point. Individual caption judges awarded Drum Major, Ciara Christopher, the percussion section, and color guard superior scores as well. The Front Ensemble percussion section placed first in class AA, and was also the highest scoring front ensemble out of all 13 bands that competed in the contest. The battery percussion received second in class AA, and the color guard received third in class AA.

The band’s show, Noise!, also was awarded the Judge’s Choice “Best Show Concept” award for having the best show design out of all 13 bands. This Saturday the Marching Hurricanes will finish their competitive season at the Warner Robins Heart of Georgia Marching Invitational. They perform at 3:10 p.m.
