Monticello Native Roger Harrison Begins Work Here

Roger Harrison, a native of Monticello, began his duties as City Manager for Monticello last Friday, Oct. 19.
Mr. Harrison was one of three finalists announced three weeks ago by the City Council, and the council voted to approve Mr. Harrison.
He said he is looking forward to the challenge, and is proud to be working in his hometown. He has already instituted a change—City Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily beginning next Monday, Oct. 29. No more closing for lunch. No doubt he will accomplish even more in the coming weeks.
He said his concern is utilities, and what can be done to make them more affordable, and he said we’ve got to get additional businesses into the city to help take some of the burden off the residents.
