Many Make Honor Roll; Winner Has Perfect Score

Well, it took more than half the season, but there was finally a perfect score in The Monticello News football contest last week.

Susan Spearman, a player from Greensboro, correctly guessed the winner of all 15 games listed in last week’s Monticello news. For her effort, she won $25 from Larry’s Four-Way, sponsor of the week. Ms. Spearman teaches at GMC, where she met Ed and Kasey Hall, and became friends with them. Mrs. Hall is so enthusiastic about the football contest, she got Ms. Spearman playing.

So, Mrs. Hall was the one to pick up Ms. Spearman’s prize from Tonya at Larry’s 4-Way.

Some 65 people got 12 or more right to have their names added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll for a chance at four premium tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on December 29.

This week, players have a chance to win a $25 prize from Jasper Health Services, sponsor of the week. Jan Gaston, a huge Auburn fan, and hospital administrator, always picks this week, as she hopes to see her team beat those Georgia Bulldogs. It remains to be seen how that will play out Saturday night.

So, turn to page 9, fill out the form or write your answers on a separate sheet of paper, and submit your entry to The Monticello News office no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 9.
