College Student Wins Contest

CAROL ANN McMICHAEL (L), SUSAN BOWER

Ady Dahod, a student at Georgia Southern and a regular football contest player, was the lucky winner of last week’s Monticello News football contest, correctly guessing the winner of 13 games listed. He was the only one with 13 right. His mom, Susan Bowers, picked up the prize for him from Carol Ann McMichael with Abbey Hospice, sponsor of the week.

Four other players were lucky enough to guess the winners in a dozen of the games listed, to have their names added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll. Everyone else scored 11 or less.

For those looking to win the grand prize, it’s time to get serious. There are only two weeks left in the football contest, and if your name is not on the honor roll, you won’t have a chance at the four premium tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on December 29. And, as a reminder, if you do win the grand prize, you must be available to pick it up in person or we will choose another winner.

This week’s contest is sponsored by Covington Ford, and one lucky person will pick up a $25 prize from the dealership. Anyone can play (as long as they are at least five years old) and anyone can win. Sometimes it’s skill, sometimes it’s luck. Take your pick…if you win you can claim it was skill!

Fill out the entry form found on page 10 of today’s paper, or use a separate piece of paper, and submit your entry to The News office no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 30. Entries may be dropped off in person at 247 West Washington Street, e-mailed to info@themonticellonews.com, or faxed to 706-468-6576. Whichever method you choose, be sure it’s here by 5 p.m. Friday.
