Court Hears A Few Cases

Tuesday’s criminal court calendar of Jasper Superior Court was very light with only seven cases on the docket of which four were granted a continuance.

Of the cases granted a continuance two included defendants with more than 180 charges between them both involving forgery, financial identity fraud, or deposit account fraud.

Ryan Norwood was sentenced to three years of probation for possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana (less than an ounce). He was fined $1,500.

Nicholas Ramey had his probation revoked to 120 days in Jasper County jail for failure to meet his standard probation fulfillments of reporting to the probation office, making court payments regularly and completing community service. He was on probation for a charge of disorderly conduct from May 2018. He was also credited with time served.

Cedric Bernard Jones had his probation revoked to 90 days in the Jasper County jail for a positive drug test at the Eatonton probation office. Also, failed to complete court ordered community service and failed to pay court fines. He was credited for time served.

Paris Clendenin, Jr, sentenced to 140 days in Jasper County jail for battery. He was credited for time served since August 2018.

Patrick Harvard, sentenced to five years with the first 60 days in Jasper County jail for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana. Three charges were nolle prossed—possession of marijuana, failure to wear seatbelt, and failure to maintain lane. In another case, he was sentenced to 12 months of probation for possession of marijuana. He was credited with time served and fined $1,900.

Benjamin Perkins, sentenced to 24 months of probation for two counts of violation of protective order. Fined $500.
