Andrea Brown Seeks Probate Judge Post

Andrea W. Brown of Monticello, who is currently the Associate Probate Judge, plans to qualify and run for election for Probate Judge to complete the remainder of the unexpired term of the Honorable Judge Linda M. Keller, which began January 1, 2017. Judge Keller is retiring on January 31, 2019.

Mrs. Brown and her family moved to Jasper County in 2000. She is a graduate of Henry County High School. She earned her certificate in Paralegal Studies from Central Georgia Technical College, and was one of the first Probate Clerks in the state of Georgia to complete the 90 hour Clerk’s Certification Program through the I.C.J.E. and Council of Probate Judges.

She will complete her Probate Judge Certification, which is a five year program in March of 2019. She is currently working towards her Traffic and Election Certifications. She began her tenure in the Probate Court under the late Honorable Judge Kathy C. Tyler in 2003, and continued on as Judge Linda M. Keller took the helm in 2005. She served as clerk in the Probate Court until November 2015, at which time she was appointed as Associate Probate Judge.

Mrs. Brown is married to Daryl W. Brown, and they have two children and one granddaughter,—Chelsea Dickerson, husband Tim, and daughter Ava, of Covington, and Clay Brown and wife Lauren of Tiger, GA.
