Kathryn Persons Sikes

Kathryn Persons Sikes, 98, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.

She was born in Monticello on April 26, 1920 to Harvey K. and Grace Flournoy Persons living in Hinesville before moving to Glennville in1952. She retired from Civil Service at Ft. Stewart after 30 years of service and was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother.

She is a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and preceded in death by her parents and husband Aubrey Sikes Sr., stepson, Aubrey Sikes, Jr., Susta, Cornelia P. Winn (Watson), brother, Harvey K. Persons, Jr.

She is survived by children, Harry Sikes (Lisa) of Pine Harbor, GA; Al Sikes of Glennville, GA, Connie S. O’Neal of Glennville, GA, Step-son, Van Sikes of Glennville, GA, daughter-in-law, Lynn Sikes of Glennville, GA; special granddaughters, Kaycee O’Neal, Allison Palit, and Angelynne Sheffield; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m, Thursday from the chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Revs. Steve Posey and Jim Morrow officiating. Burial will be in the Glennville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are David Smith, Daniel Smith, Glen Curry, Bran Thompson, Charles Burkhalter, and Jason Whitlow.

Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Burkhalter, Randy Burkhalter, Brent Walker, Edwin Kickligher, Charlie Foster
