Billy Ray Goodwin

Billy Ray Goodwin, age 80, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at his residence.

Billy Goodwin was born in Atlanta, to the late James Levi Goodwin and Vera Lorraine Collins Goodwin. In addition to his parents, his brother, James Thomas Goodwin preceded him in death.

Billy Goodwin served in the U. S. Air Force. Before retirement, he owned and operated MPG Trucking. Billy loved riding and working on motorcycles, and in the 1960’s owned a motorcycle shop in Hapeville. He loved to ski, and continued into the age of 70. He loved to cook and would cook for churches and charities.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Stallings Goodwin of Monticello; sons and daughter, Brad (Randi) Goodwin of Austell, David Smallwood of Monticello, and Belinda Smallwood of Wisconsin; sister, Lorraine McCrackin of Monticello; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
