Man Is Arrested for Arson at KEM South, Monticello
On Monday, Feb. 25, at around 8 a.m., Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Investigators responded to KEM South, located at 544 Edwards Road, in reference to a vehicle fire.
Upon arriving to the scene it was revealed that there was no structure damage to the business and no individuals were injured. It was also determined during the investigation that the fire was started on February 24 during the night. Someone entered onto the property of KEM and set fire to a vehicle and the fire spread to other vehicles which became fully engulfed by flames and subsequently damaging several surrounding vehicles.
The investigation led investigators to Metro Atlanta where Jasper County Sheriff’s Investigators worked alongside Atlanta Police Department as a result a James Clifford Price III was arrested for 10 counts of Arson in the 1st Degree, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree, and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony. The investigation is still ongoing and more charges and more arrests could be made.
Other persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Tommie Lee Dunn, 53, homeless—probation violation.
•Terrell Eugene Stinson, 56, Shady Dale—hold for warrant in Newton Co.
•Johnny Dwayne Farley, 58, Shady Dale—probation violation.
•Robert David Austin, 39, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine
and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
•Terrance Antonio Bostic, 32, Monticello—child support.
•Kelly Michelle Copelan, 36, Monticello—reckless conduct and discharging firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Donald Jared Copelan, Jr., 37, Monticello—criminal trespass.
•Lee Annis Jones., Jr., 60, Shady Dale—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Jeffery Eugene Hauk, 37, Conersville, In.—aggravated assault, cruelty to children-3rd degree and battery.
•Kayleigh Michelle Abbott, 17, Monticello—criminal trespass.
•Dorothy Ann Jenkins, 51, Shady Dale—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
